Bold Modern Abstract Minimal Mathematical Geometric 3D Sculpture

Guardian has a commanding presence. It is an upright bold design with clean lines, wonderful corners and edges. The black granite base is very refined and reflects the colors of the surface. The ratio between form and space is 1 : 2. The head component splits the negative space into a ½ : 1 : ½ ratio.

The design for the guardian sculpture was created in 2015. It was built in wood in small scale and it was called Seated Figure and sold a show a the Bau Gallery. Later in 2016 I built it Large scale in railroad ties, called Seated Figure 2.

Then in 2022 my friend and brilliant designer Clodagh commissioned me to make it in metal for an outdoor veranda for her client in New York City. I worked with Forest Iron Works and they fabricated the sculpture in aluminum and painted it with power coating. Clodagh and her team choose the color. They also worked with another fabricator to build the beautiful black granite base.
