Happy is really a fun piece - it is so whimsical and it also embodies a lot of the strong geometric shapes and spaces I love to see in my work. It stands tall and has a very strong presences.

Happy is one of my all time favorite sculptures. I first created this design while studying sculpture at Purchase College, NY. I welded it together using 1-in square stock and painted it red! It stood about 12-in tall. That piece has long been lost but it was one of the first pieces I made again when I started working in wood in 2013. Built out of 4 x 4's, it stood about 2ft. I sold it and was commissioned to make it again 2020, where I used milled 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 poplar which had very strong edges. I painted it light blue for the client.

Having lost it once, and having sold it twice, I was missing it, and it again was the first medium sized pieces I made using the new techniques of 3D printing. It stands about 2ft tall again. I just love seeing it again.
